My Focus Areas
I have been blessed during my lifetime with good qualifications and a career that lasted more than 30 years. Just before my retirement, I had no idea that I would continue to work after retirement and enjoy my work even more.
When I started editing students’ assignments, theses, and dissertations, I soon realised that my work experience and qualifications enabled me to work across many disciplines. This was rewarding as it opened new worlds for me and enriched my view of life.
Because of my qualifications in the disciplines of medicine, information technology, and business management, I have done more editing in these fields and have gained valuable experience that will help me to better assist students enrolled in these fields. My MBA and my involvement in the management and bookkeeping of a small business also laid a wonderful foundation for helping students in the field of business management.
My background as a senior manager in a provincial government department has helped me to edit several master theses and doctoral dissertations of students in various areas of public management.
At the start of my career, I was in hospital practice and mainly worked as a physician and neurologist. This experience was valuable when I edited the master theses of a couple of doctors specialising in psychiatry and in biomedical forensic science. I am eager to help more of my old colleagues.
At one stage in my life, I studied for a master's degree in theology. Although I did not finish, this background has been extremely useful to me when asked to edit theological articles, master theses, and doctoral dissertations.
Other fields where I am assisting students are the following:
- Public health
- Industrial psychology
- Clinical psychology
- Environmental sciences
- Education
- Nuclear engineering
- Electrical and electronic engineering
- Chemical engineering
- Economics
- Social work
- Literature studies
